Once again it is the time of the year when we starting to look with one eye towards the show season, and what a better way to kick start the season, than, what is now a fixture on the Irish show calendar The Ballybay Young stock Show in the Riverdale Hotel.
This year the added bonus is that the judge is none other than, Mr Budgarigar himself, Gerald Binks.
Gerald will also give a talk with a Q&A session with beginners in mind!. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and learn from the master breeder.
The committee have organised a get together the evening before the show in the Riverdale Hotel, and have secured a super B&B rate for Eire Budgerigar Society members of only, €30.00 Per person sharing. If you wish to be part of this special ,contact the society now as there are only 7 rooms left available in the Hotel!!!
Seeing that Gerald will also be staying at the Riverdale Hotel that night, this is the ideal chance to spend an evening in the company of a living legend of the Budgerigar Hobby. You may not be afforded this glorious opportunity again!!!
Gerald's talk and Q&A session is open to all. It is Free to all Eire Budgerigar Society members, for non members wishing to attend, a Nominal fee of € 10.00 will apply. Tickets must be purchased in advance of the day, by contacting the society at eirebs@gmail.com
On top of all that, a Trade Fair will also take place in the venue, with Emerald Budgerigars as the organisers, for more information regarding the Trade Fair, please visit Emerald Budgerigars

The Annual General Meeting of the Eire Budgerigar Society took place on Sunday the 28th of February,in the superb Nethercross Day Care Centre, and the minutes of that meeting will be contained in the next newsletter.
There were a number of slight rule changes to tidy up the General Rules of the society ,but changes to the show rules proposed were withdrawn and put on hold pending direction sought from the B.S.
The management committee have proposed that the Society should run a trip for the membership to the BS convention next year. This trip, will also include a visit to the:
Huxley & Marchant Stud.
This visit has now been booked and it represents a terrific opportunity to view what is arguably the Finest Stud of Budgerigars anywhere in the World.
The BS convention only comes around every four years and it is well worth the visit...........Should you be interested please contact any committee member. It is also proposed to set up a Savings Club for this trip..... Details to follow.............
