The society has as a result of a motion put before the membership at this year's AGM, decided to reverse the name change which took place at the 2009 AGM. A press release has been sent to all the relevant hobby press, and concerned societies and organisations. You can read this press release on the Download Page

The first newsletter of the New Year, is well into its production, with a follow up article by Brendan Kinane, the first part was printed in Newsletter number six of 2009. We will also have an article by top German Breeder Fritz Buttner, with his reflections on his Best Opp Sex award at last years European Championship show in Karlsruhe, Germany.
This year we have the additional sponsorship, from the Australian Company "Vetafarm" and we are delighted to work with them in promoting their brand on this side of the Globe.!
We are also delighted to announce that our site has had over Six Thousand hits in its first seven months of existance, so perhaps we'll hit the Ten thousand mark for its aniversary at the end of next April.
As always we are delighted to place Breeders Adds in our newsletter, and you can have your add for the year for as little as €10.00 for the year.!
Gerald Binks has launched a fabulous new website, and our society is part of his links section.

The Management Committee of the "Eire Budgerigar Society" are delighted to announce that Gerald Binks has accepted our invitation to give a " Lecture", to be held in conjunction with our Young Stock Show and Trade Fair.
Gerald was so eager to assist the Society and its members that he suggested the following:-
"I am quite prepared to talk for an hour and a half, if that is possible, on all aspects of the hobby which I trust your members will be interested in . It is a suggestion only that paper and pencil is handed out to everyone as there are bound to be a number of helpful hints cropping up in the interaction between myself and those there. I will welcome all questions while I am talking and especially so from those fairly new to the hobby --so please encourage them to stand up and ask. We all started at the beginning and my aim is to help."
What a kind gesture and a superb offer from the Master Budgerigar Breeder Himself to grace our shores and afford our Society this immense honour !. This will be a unique opportunity to Hear, Witness, and put your questions, to a man who has forgotten more about Budgerigar Breeding and Husbandry, than the rest of us will ever learn in our lifetime. As you can see from the above quote, his desire and drive is to help beginners.
So from Champion to Beginner, from East to West and North to South rub your hands together in glee, and look forward to a once off opportunity to learn from "A living Legend of the Exhibition Budgerigar Hobby"

This show will be staged in a super new venue in Kilkenny City. This again shows the commitment of the management committee to bring this Annual Event around the country in order to promote our hobby countrywide. In keeping with the now established best practice of bringing the best and most experienced speakers, to share their knowledge and experience with membership, while the open show judging is taking place. -
