One of our society's sponsors Australian Company VetaFarm have sent us their new product booklet and a newsletter flier, with details of how to feed with a crop needle. This leaflet will be in the next newsletter. It also contains new products to combat mites lice and ticks

The Eire Budgerigar Society's young Stock show was held in the Nethercross centre Finglas, Dublin on the 6th of June. B.S. panel judge Mr Dominic Avo from Swansea, placed the awards, and gave a superb after show talk on all aspects of Bird room management. A total of 72 birds were benched which was a similar turn out to last year.
The main award of the day, best young bird went to Darragh Frawley with a beautifully turned out Cinnamon Grey hen. Gerard Lanigan's Olive Green Cock won the best young bird opp/sex in show. Society treasurer Brian Flynn scooped the Best Barhead award with a bird described by the judge as having huge potential and a bird he would like to take home with him. John Sutton took the best beginner Barhead award .Society vice chairperson Janet Grange laid on enough food for three shows, with cakes Apple pies and a super assortment of sandwiches. New member Noel Kelly got off to a great start by winning a 100% Willi Dokter blood Grey Green Cock, Brian Mc Cabe won an Opl Grey Pied Cock from the same bloodline.This bird was another that caught the eye of the judge.

The society has as a result of a motion put before the membership at this year's AGM, decided to reverse the name change which took place at the 2009 AGM. The Management Committee of the Eire Budgerigar Society are pleased to announce that they have secured, both Judges and venues for the the next two National Open Shows.
Jac Cuyten and Rinus Van Den Broek have agreed to Judge the 2010 Open Show
This show will be staged in a super new venue in Kilkenny City. This again shows the commitment of the management committee to bring this Annual Event around the country in order to promote our hobby countrywide. In keeping with the now established best practice of bringing the best and most experienced speakers, to share their knowledge and experience with membership, while the open show judging is taking place. -
"Terry Tuxford will give the Seminar at the 2010 National Open Show"
Also at the recent management committee meeting held during the weekend of the "Cork Show Bird Society's Open Show, the committee agreed to confirm the Judges and venue for the 2011 Open shows. As the committee is fully aware of the need to secure the best judges and speakers, Ron Pearce and Rick Watts have agreed to place the awards at the 2011 Open show, which will be staged at a yet to be decided venue in Dublin City
